Oluwo of Iwo – “I Will Lead the Protest”

Oba Abdulrasheed Akanbi, the Oluwo of Iwo has revealed during an interactive programme organized by the State Government, that he is ready to lead the protest, the next time the youths plan their protest and doesn’t have a leader.

The Traditional ruler also mentioned that a protest without leadership is doomed to fail because when the protest eventually enters the dialogue phase, there would be no one that the government can interact with, or resolve the issues with.

Oluwo of Iwo thereby used the opportunity to tell the youths that the next time they plan a protest and don’t have a leader, they should come to him as he’s ready to lead the protest.

He said, “Next time, if you want to organize a protest and you don’t have anyone to lead you, you may be afraid that they may kill you or you are afraid of being arrested, come to me, I will lead the protest.

“There is no way you can organize protest without leadership. You must give room for dialogue because it is the leadership that will eventually sit down and discuss with the government. That is the only way you can fight and get your demands to the government.”
