The Governor of Borno State, Babagana Zulum was in attendance as they bury the 43 farmers that were beheaded by Boko haram in the state yesterday. The burial was done according to Islamic injunction.
It’s a sad day for the residents of Borno state, as they witness another cruel killing of their kinsmen. And it’s also a sad day for Nigeria as a whole, as we all mourn our fellow citizens that were killed by the Boko Haram insurgents.
The news of the killing was reported yesterday morning, after the army was alerted that the Boko Haram insurgents were running rampant in a village in Borno state, on getting to the location, it was discovered that the terrorists have beheaded 43 farmers.
This is not the first case of gruesome killing that would be recorded in Borno state or the northern part of Nigeria, there has been a series of incidents like this, with even more casualties. That explains the level of insecurity that exists in Northern Nigeria.
The Zarbamari massacre as it’s tagged has pushed Nigerians in requesting that the Army service chiefs be sacked by the President, for being unable to live up to their responsibilities. The president is yet to make any statement concerning the massacre.
