Local Vigilante Kills Nine Bandits, Arrests Others in Niger State

The Local Vigilante group in Gulu town, Lapai Local Government Area of Niger State have killed nine suspected bandits with several others arrested, while waiting to collect ransom from the families of their abductees. According to reports that were gathered, the kidnappers/bandits had raided the town some few days before they were discovered. It was reported that during the raid, some inhabitants of the town were abducted and the families of the victims were told to pay ransom before the victims would be released. Edward Kallon, the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Nigeria has revealed that 110 persons, not 43 were killed in the Borno farm attack on Saturday.
